Christa Thiel

Born 1954 – Married
Christa Thiel studied law at Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz where she gained a 1st State Degree in Jurisprudence in 1977 and a 2nd State Degree in Jurisprudence in 1980 in Wiesbaden. In 1984 she received a Doctor’s Degree in Jurisprudence from Christian Albrechts University, Kiel. Since 1980 she has worked as a lawyer with her own firm in Wiesbaden. Dr Thiel was the President of the German Swimming Federation for more than 15 years

Dimitris Diathesopoulos

Diathesopoulos-DimitrisMr Diathesopoulos, a lawyer by profession, practices in his home town of Pireus.  A graduate of the University of Athens, Faculty of Law, he speaks fluent English. As a student he played volleyball and between 1992 and 1996 he acted as a sports judge in volleyball. He is also an international Water Polo referee for both LEN and FINA and between 1990 and 1994, whilst a LEN Bureau member, he was the Bureau Liaison for Water Polo. He had involvement with the Athens Olympic Games, both as a member of the bidding and organising committees.

Sven von Holst

Sven von Holst

Sven Von Holst, who was formerly Senior Vice President of Stora Enso, an international forestry industry company,
currently works as the Chief Executive of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2015. Now President of the Swedish Swimming Federation, he swam in Olympic Games, World and European Championships in the period between 1965 and 1975. A holder of a degree in Business Administration, he was head coach to the Swedish national swimming team between 1977 and 1984. In 1980, he was awarded the King of Sweden’s gold medal for outstanding sport leadership.

Fernando Carpena Perez

Born in 1955
Fernando_CarpenaFernando Carpena Perez received a law degree from Universidad Complutense in Madrid and has been a practicing lawyer since 1978. He has used his expertise in law to good effect being Professor of sports law at the University of Physical Science (INEF) in Madrid as well as writing the statutes of the Spanish Swimming Federation. A former swimmer and water polo player he played for CD Parque Movil and Real Canoe N.C between 1969 and 1981.

Andriy Vlaskov

Andriy_VlaskovAndriy Vlaskov, who was born and lives in Kiev, was a member of the Soviet Union Swimming Team between 1975 and 1979. He graduated with a high degree in sport’s teaching education and he returned to the Presidency of the Ukrainian Swimming Federation.
