This weekend will see halving the field: only the first two seeded sides of the respective groups can survive the second round of the qualifications in the Euro Cup.
The two Hungarian clubs ruled the first round, both Miskolc and Ferencvaros won all their matches. Ferencvaros, the title-holder, might maintain its clean sheet, and they are playing at home – among their current rivals they earlier beat Jadran (CRO) 8-5 in the first round. Miskolc faces a tough test against Verona (ITA) while they can have fond memories from their match with Shturm (RUS) two weeks ago when they thrashed them 16-6. Regarding the other rematches of the first round encounters, in Group A Verona defeated Pays (FRA) 13-4 while in the other group Primorac (MNE) bettered Mataro (ESP) 12-8, now these teams meet once again.
