LEN’s traditional top synchro event in odd years, the Synchronised Swimming European Champions Cup will be staged in the Italian city of Cuneo, close to Torino from 5 to 7 May 2017
After the unfortunate withdrawal of the original host, the Italian city of Cuneo stepped in to host the synchronised swimming European Champions Cup. LEN’s traditional top synchro event in odd years will be held in the first weekend of May (a shift from the originally planned second weekend). Organisers have earned experience through staging the Italian nationals recently in Cueno, a city located some 40km from Torino.
“Involving new cities, engaging new communities by the highlighted events of European Aquatics have always been a target for LEN. By allocating our top synchro event to Cuneo we are just expanding the circle of hosts and offer outstanding sporting value and entertainment for the local fans” LEN President Paolo Barelli said. “Europe is a traditional powerhouse in synchronised swimming and the Champions Cup will serve as a great occasion for all participants to show their routines, perhaps new ones prepared after the Olympics.”
The showcase will feature the usual programme, involving a duet, a team, a free combination and a synchro highlight routine competition.
