European Water Polo Championships Barcelona

A little over a year and a half before the 33rd edition of the men’s and the 17th edition of the women’s LEN European Water Polo Championships in Barcelona, the Organizing Committee is proud to launch the first communication tool of the event, the official website www.wp2018bcn.com

From now on, water polo enthusiast will be able to get access to all the information about the championships through a dynamic latest-generation website in three languages: Catalan, Spanish and English.

Enzyme Advising Group has been in charge of bringing this project to life. The website is responsive and can be accessed from computers, tablets and mobile devices. Enzyme is a professional services firm that provides consulting and technology advice to a wide range of international companies.

The LEN European Water Polo Championships Barcelona 2018 took their first steps in November, at the official presentation of the Organizing Committee and the logo. Representatives from all the institutions involved in the project are part of this committee, led by the Barcelona City Council. The President of the committee is Fernando Carpena, President of the Royal Spanish Swimming Federation, and David Escudé, Barcelona City Council’s Commissioner for Sport, and Enric Bertrán, President of the Catalan Swimming Federation, serve as Vice Presidents.

This will be the first time Barcelona hosts the most prestigious continental water polo competition. The championships will be held from the 14th to 28th of July 2018 at the Bernat Picornell Pools, scene of some of the most memorable aquatic events organized in Barcelona, including the 1992 Olympic Games, the World Aquatics Championships in 2003 and 2013 and the last two editions of the Final Six.

The latest European Championships took place this January in Belgrade. Serbia, considered the greatest team in the world, won gold in the men’s category, and Hungary in the women’s. Despite finishing 4th in the women’s category and 5th in the men’s, the Spanish team has promised to put up a great show in Barcelona 2018 to stay in the water polo elite.
