LEN mourns former Bureau Member Nicolas Wildhaber

LEN has learnt with immense sadness that its former Bureau Member Nicolas Wildhaber has passed away. LEN President Paolo Barelli, the Bureau Members and the whole LEN Family have been united in mourning the former official of LEN.

He was a two-time Olympian, represented Switzerland at the 1948 London Olympics and later in Rome 1960. He was Swiss champion 37 times and became a highly appreciated national team coach later.

He was also an accomplished member of the LEN and the FINA Family, served as a LEN Bureau Member between 1986 and 1994 and was also vice-chairman of the FINA TSC. He became Honorary Member in both organisations and received a gold pin for his outstanding contributions.

He enjoyed a great and long life, dedicated to swimming, before he left us at the age of 90.

In these grieving moments, the LEN Family sends its heartfelt condolences to the Wildhaber Family and the Swiss Aquatic Community.
