LEN has learnt with satisfaction that Glen Killane would become the new director of Eurovision Sport, the sports arm of European Broadcasting Union.
Mr Killane has already been involved to LEN’s broadcasting-related activities as the deputy director and has always been very supportive of European Aquatics.
“We’ve got to know a dedicated professional in Mr Killane” LEN President Paolo Barelli said. “EBU is our most important partner which has been playing a pivotal role in the outstanding development of European Aquatics, the success of our major events. We are very much looking forward to carrying on this fruitful relationship with Glen at the helm and hope that plenty more common success awaits us in the years coming.”
The president said that the partnership of LEN and EBU contributed a lot to LEN’s development. “And this ultimately gave us the opportunity to offer a lot more to our National Federations and to our athletes” Mr Barelli said.
At the same time Mr Barelli praised the efforts of outgoing director Stefan Kurten. “Under Stefan’s tenure, Eurovision Sport got into a new dimension and LEN was enjoying the benefits of this great progress. He was a brilliant leader who had vision, knowledge and experience and ensured that EBU and its partner sports federations were sharing these benefits.”
