Turkey v Netherlands 0-25 – Day 3, Women, Group A
Hakan Sahbaz, head coach, Turkey
After this kind of game, to say something is very difficult. There are no positive things from our side. Id like to congratulate the Netherlands team, it was very difficult to play against them. There are two different levels of Water Polo here, which is hurting our team and other three or four teams. So in the end this is a big experience for us and we hope to improve step by step.
Arno Havinga, head coach, Netherlands
Unfortunately there is a difference in quality at this level, but these are games which need to be played. Our next game is Portugal, so probably much the same as this match. It starts for us with Russia, and every game after that is a final for us.
Yasemin Smit, captain, Netherlands
For us it was important that we stayed in our game rhythm. Of course, it was not too difficult for us today. We must now concentrate on the next game against Russia which is more difficult. Its good that Turkey can play at the European Championships here in Belgrade. They can learn a lot.
Melda Fatma Idrisoglu, captain, Turkey
Everybody knows that we are a young team. We are not as professional as other teams. Its a good experience to be here. We only had one year to prepare for the Championships. We are trying to provide our best. Here is a very good atmosphere. I hope we win against Portugal.
